Alice Springs Fauna •
This sand wasp was photographed in Alice Springs and is thought to belong to the genus Bembix, subfamily Bembicinae. This subfamily comprising a large group of crabronid wasps, with a worldwide distribution of over 80 genera and over 1,800 species. In the genus Bembix, there is thought to be around 380 species.
