The Cattle Bush (Trichodesma zeylanicum) is a fairly widespread plant across Australia, occurring in Western Australia, the Northern Territory, South Australia, Queensland and New South Wales. It is known under various common name including Camel Bush, Northern Bluebell and Water Bush.
A bristly-hairy erect herb or shrub that can grow between 40 cm up to 1.5 metres high. An annual with clusters of pale blue flowers that droop downward. The flower has a protruding stamen surrounding the style, with the anthers end in long bristles, twisted together. The sepals are bristly-hairy, enlarging in fruit. The leaves are narrowly elliptic.
