One of the most striking landmark in the South Coast region in the traditional lands of the Yuin People, is Gulaga, also known as Mount Gulaga, Gulaga Mountain (formerly known as Mount Dromedary). It rises above the village of Central Tilba, within the Gulaga National Park. At its highest point, it measures 806 metres above sea level.

This beathtaking landmark can be seen from many different popular locations, including overlooking Wallaga Lake, and from Horsehoe Bay.

A important women’s place, the mountain symbolises a mother figure, a place of ancestral origin for the Yuin people (the region’s Aboriginal Custodians). Look closely and you can see Gulaga – as a pregnant woman lying down. Experience the Mother Mountain respectfully, as the Yuin people have for tens of thousands of years.
