Royal National Park
Established in 1879, the Royal National Park is one of the worlds oldest national parks, becoming “royal” after a visit by Queen Elizabeth II in 1954. Covering some 16,000 hectares, the Royal National Park provides some spectacular and varied scenery, that include more than 150 km of walking tracks.

One of the most popular walking tracks is the Bundeena-Maianbar Heritage Walk. Stretching from Bundeena to Otford in the south, it takes in some magnificent scenery and native flora. One of the plants seen along the walk is Mat Rush, which is often used in rehabilitation of the environment.
