Sydney FaunaAustralian White Ibis (Threskiornis molucca) in Sydney Common Halfband (Melangyna viridiceps)

Sydney and the greater Sydney Region encompasses a range of habitats and diverse range of fauna. From the smallest of insects to birds, reptiles and mammals, there is always something interesting to spot.

From our endemic wildlife, there are also those introduced species and others that are considered pests or ferals.

Check out some of the fauna we have seen and friends have shared. Wherever you are in Sydney, keep your eyes peeled for some of the smallest of insects to some of our larger creatures. Not only will you see them in gardens, reserves and national parks, you will spot them even in streets of suburbs and cities.

Pictured are some of the wildlife seen in Sydney.
