Alice Springs ReptilesBearded Dragon Bynoe’s Gecko Common Desert Ctenotus Ctenotus saxatilis Eastern Tree Dtella Long-nosed Dragon Perentie
Visitors to Alice Springs can enjoy what we locals enjoy, some of the reptiles that can be found in the Central Australia region, whether it is the occasional Perentie ambling through the spinifex and grass, a Long-nosed Dragon sunning next to the pool or a Bearded Dragon basking on a rock.
Of course you can also see our native reptiles in the local Alice Springs Reptile Centre and the Alice Springs Desert Park. Maybe a walk through some of our other town attractions such as the Olive Pink Botanic Garden and the Alice Springs Telegraph Station, but you will need keen observation, as some reptiles blend in well with the surrounding environment, or may be off in a flash, at being disturbed.
There is of course a chance to look back into time at reptiles long past, with a visit to the local Megafauna Central.
