The Yellow-Footed Antechinus (Antechinus flavipes), is also known as the Mardo. Described as a shrew-like marsupial, the specific epithet flavipes means “yellow-footed.”

The Yellow-Footed Antechinus is the most widespread of all the Antechinus genus in Australia. They are found in a range of habitats from tropical vine-forests, swamps and dry mulga country.
