The Pink Rock Wort (Sedopsis filsonii) from the Family Portulacaceae, is a delicate brightly pink coloured, prostrate perennial.

Endemic to the southern Northern Territory, within restricted habitat of the greater MacDonnell Ranges, the Pink Rock Wort whilst not common, can easily be missed if not for their brightly coloured flowers.

This plant was found in the range above Ormiston Gorge in the Western MacDonnell during the month of April (after considerable rainfall). The flower appears above the leaves on a stem about 2-3 cm high.

Our thanks to Rick Irving with identifying this flora.
