Mocis alterna, commonly known as the Bean Looper Moth, is a species of the family Erebidae, first described by Francis Walker in 1858.

The Mocis alterna caterpillar moves in a looper fashion. The colour of the caterpillar can vary from cream through brown and black, and may also have stripes.

Observations have been recorded in Atlas of Living Australia, with the most sightings in Queensland and the east coast, includng New South Wales and Victoria. There are a number of sightings in the Top End and Central Australia, and the limited sightings (at time of writing) in Western Australia and South Australia.
