Belonging to the genus Braunsapis sp., who are commonly known as Reed Bees, as they nest in the hollow reeds and stems. Other bees that are also in the Reed Bee group include the genus Exoneura and Exoneurella.

This bee was rescued on a windy day from a swimming pool. Lining the pool on one side was a variety of bamboo plants.

After being retrieved from the water, the bee was placed on a twig to allow itself to dry out. You can see pollen on the hind legs.
