In the previous page we saw the female Golden Orb-weaver being distracted with a small captured bug, whilst the male approached her epigynum (female genital).

Here, despite only having six legs, the female Golden Orb-weaver Spider is able to manage something bigger that has strayed into the remains of her web.

Whilst she is distracted with the bigger prey, the tiny male takes full advantage, although it may be that he only wants a taste of the Giant Grasshopper (Valanga irregularis).
