The genus Mangrovia include species previously Araneus albidus, now known as Mangrovia albida, an Australian orb-weaving spider.

The following images by Annette Fraser-Dunn, are of the Mangrovia albida photographed in a garden in Berrinba (Logan) in SE Queensland.

The following images by Stefan Jones, are of the White Crab Spider (Thomisus spectabilis) with captured prey Mangrovia albida.

Belonging to the Orb-weaver family of spiders, one of the identifying features besides eye arrangement, is this white marking on the abdomen, a visual identification for some Orbs.
