Zygometis xanthogasterMilky Flower Spider (Zygometis xanthogaster)
Commonly known as the Milky Flower Spider, as seen in the following photographs from South Australia, the species Zygometis xanthogaster is actually variable in colour.
Every year the flower spiders in the flowering Erigeron patch were completely white. This particular year 2021, they were a different colour. Whilst they are commonly known as the Milky Flower Spider, the colour variation in the species is so great it has been described under different names.
