Seen throughout Australia, the Caper White Butterfly (Belenois java), specifically the sub-species Belenois java teutonia.
The caterpillar of the B. j. teutonia butterfly are associated with feeding and pupating off the caper plants, although they are also know to feed off the nectar of other flowering plants including Callistemon (bottlebrushes).
At Ellery Creek Big Hole, you can often seen the around and on the Wild Passionfruit (Capparis spinosa var. nummularia).
The butterfly will lay their eggs on the plant, which will hatch into the caterpillar. The caterpillar then goes through instar stages, before pupating and emerging as the Caper White Butterfly (Belenois java teutonia).
