Ellery Creek Big Hole is an important source of water for the local flora and fauna. Supporting aquatic plants and other flora in the area, which in turn supports a number of insects, birds and other wildlife, this waterhole plays an important part of the ecological environment to be found along the West MacDonnell Ranges.
Some of the flora to be found in the area include:
Orange Spade Flower (Hybanthus aurantiacus)
Currently being researched is our flora to be found in Central Australia. Check back here to see the page.
