The Giant Green Slantface Grasshopper (Acrida conica) are widespread in the Eastern States and scattered locations across the rest of Australia (except for Tasmania). They are the only species in the genus Acrida.

With their common name of Giant Green Slantface, that comes from the elongated slanting face, they are green and white-cream in colour, although there is a brown morph. The female can be up to 8.5 cm in length, with their antennae and legs adding to their size. The males are up to 5.5 cm in length. They have long legs that hang down in flight.
