Alice Springs Moths | Alice Springs Moths Index

Arhodia lasiocamparia, commonly known as the Pink Arhodia or the Geometer Moth, is described as a monotypic moth genus, in the family Geometridae.

A monotypic species describes one that does not include subspecies or smaller, infraspecific taxa.

The ID of this specimen is in question. As there are about 7-8 species in this genus, with only one currently described, this specimen pictured here should only be referred to the genus Arhodia, until more species are identified (as almost everything that you find north or west of Melbourne is not Arhodia lasiocampari).
