Alice Springs Waste Stabilisation Ponds
A striking small bird with a long tail, the White-winged Fairywren (Malurus leucopterus) is found mainly in the semi-arid and arid regions of Australia. It is the breeding male that have the brilliant cobalt to sapphire blue colour, with white wing patches and blue tail. The female and non-breeding males are pale brown-grey and the patch between the eye and bill (lores) are also pale.
