The Alice Springs Sewage Ponds is on the northern side of the MacDonnell Ranges, stretching west from Heavitree Gap. As well as the birds and other wildlife to be seen there, visitors to the Alice Springs Wastewater Treatment Works can experience the atmosphere and landscape at different times of the day and years.
It was still fairly dark when we arrived, awaiting for daylight to break…
The ranges provide an amazing backdrop for photographing the migrant birds, as well seeing birds on and in the native flora around the ponds — check out our Landscape of Birds at the Ponds
