The Museum is a celebration of the spirit, effort, and courage of the people who founded aviation in the centre of Australia.

The founding of the Central Australian Aviation Museum in 1977 to document and celebrate the aviation industry in Central Australia continues today.

R.F.D.S. Drover ” John Flynn” – commenced service 1952 and retired in 1970. This aircraft was purchased and recovered with the help from the Rotary Club of Alice Springs and restored and dispalyed by members of the Central Australian Aviation Museum, a non profit voluntary group.

Did you know that the 5th October 2021 marked the centenary of the first flight into Alice Springs.
