The “Northern Beaches” is a region that encompasses the beach suburbs stretching up the east coast of the northern side of the Sydney metropolitan area, within the local government area of the Northern Beaches Council, although it has often been used to include the coastal suburbs north of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, that include the suburbs that are more commonly within the group known as the “North Shore”.
