Scorpion-tailed Spider (Arachnura higginsi)Scorpion-tailed Spider Egg Sacs The Spider and the Web
The Scorpion-tailed Spider (Arachnura higginsi), also known as the Scorpion Orb Weaver (belonging to the Orbweavers family Araneidae), is said to build a web that is vertical although depending on what it the web is attached to, will have some angles of inclination. There are occasions where they will built a web that is more horizontal.
The web itself is not fully circular, as found with many orbweaver webs, as the upper two sectors of the Scorpion-tailed Spider web are left incomplete, with just radial threads.
The web is usually constructed about one to two metres above ground and measures approximately 1 metre across.
