The delightful and brilliant blue Splendid Fairy-wren (Malurus splendens) is a small bird that is found mainly in semi-arid and arid regions of Australia. One of the wrens that can be easily spotted around Alice Springs, due to the colour, although it is only the male that sports the brilliant blue colouration during the breeding season.
