This amazing and beautiful metal work created in 2008 depicting Mount Gillen in the landscape by artist Dan Murphy, is made from metal and twitching wire.

Part of the Araluen Art Collection, it was kindly donated by the Friends of Araluen in 2014 to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the opening of the Araluen Arts Centre.

Dan Murphy is a self-taught artist who has been living and working in Alice Springs and Central Australia since 1994. During this time Dan has spent a number of years living in remote communities (mostly Wingellina, WA) doing his own work, and also working on community arts projects at Fregon, Santa Teresa, Tennant Creek and in Alice Springs. Dan also designed and oversaw construction of the large Yeperenye sculpure located in the Alice Springs Cultural Precinct.
