The Araluen Cultural Precinct encompasses the Araluen Arts Centre, gardens and grounds, and is home to many significant public works of art, including ‘The Split’ by Trevor Weekes and the Yeperenye Sculpture by local artist Dan Murphy created in collaboration with students from the Centre for Appropriate Technology’s ATWork program.

The Araluen Arts Centre also houses the Araluen Art Collection, with new works being acquired for their collection annually. Some of the artworks are on permanent display, whilst others are shown in rotating exhibitions and presentations.

The Araluen Arts Centre is home to the titled work Arrernte Country by Wenten Rubuntja and Cedar Prest’s floor-to-ceiling stained-glass foyer window depicting Arrente stories central to Alice Springs, whilst on the outside wall in the cafe courtyard is the Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri Mural.

These public art installations can be viewed as you walk around the Araluen Cultural Precinct, whilst others can be found in Sculpture Garden and inside the Araluen Arts Centre and Galleries.
