Lampromicra senator is an Australian species belonging to a group known as Jewel Bugs (in the family Scutelleridae).
Whilst Lampromicra senator is commonly known as the Green Jewel Bug, it is extremely variable in colouration, ranging from a dark metallic green to purplish-blue, with orange markings on the underside (ventrally) and on the anterior of the scutellum. The legs are orange-brown and dark green. Under its large shield, we can see the orange edges of abdomen. Its legs are orange-brown and dark green.
This species is found in New South Wales, Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australia. In the genus Lampromicra, there are currently 3 species Lampromicra aerea, Lampromicra regia and Lampromicra senator.
