The genus Hackerobrachys (family Eurybrachidae) is a group of planthoppers that only has one species, Hackerobrachys viridiventris.
The genus Hackerobrachys takes the first part of the name from Henry Hacker, who was an entomologist who had studied Australian eurybrachids. The second part of Hackerobrachys — “brachys”, from the Greek word meaning “short”. The species name “viridiventris” is Latin for “green belly” in reference to the colour of the abdomen and the face.
