Ants are a group of insect belonging to the family Formicidae, an amazing and interesting group of insect that are found in all of Australia’s terrestrial habitats, from coastal to bush, rivers, lakes and wetlands, rainforests, woodlands, shrublands, heathlands, savannas, grasslands, and arid desert regions.

The Gold Coast region is home to a number of different ant species. Check back as we add more species of ants found in the region.
