Queensland FaunaInsects Spiders
Queensland encompasses a diverse range of habitats from the east coast and top end marine environments along Australia’s lengthy coastline, inland water sources that include permanent and seasonal waterways and wetlands, beaches and mangrove forests, tropical rainforest, grasslands and savannas to arid regions.
All these habitats are home to a diverse range of wildlife from aquatic creatures, insects, spiders, reptiles, mammals, marsupials and birds. Whilst most of the larger wildlife are known, there are many thousands of unamed species of insects and spiders (see our current work in progress, Queensland Moths Index).
Check out some of the listed fauna here, with many more to be added over times.
