Hylaeus nubilosus Mud nest

Whilst Hylaeus nubilosus have been observed nesting in the bamboo canes of bee hotels that are popular in urban home gardens, they are also known to be partial to the disused mud nests of Eumenidae and Sphecidae wasps.

Other native bees that have been observed nesting in disused mud nests of wasps include the Goldern-browed Resin Bee (Megachile aurifrons) .
