“Hey! That’s close enough… if we get a gust of wind now I’m gonna get splattered on your lens…” 🙂 Spent a few hours with this little cutie today, another new Hylaeus for the album I think. Took a bit to build the trust but in the end she was more than just cool with me taking her pic, in fact I’m sure I saw love hearts on her face 😃

Gorgeous little Hylaeus girl from this arvo, thought she was violaceus to start with but nyeh, dunno… seems smaller and greener with thicker facial markings. Could just be light and angle tho’🙂

I know there’s some very observant people that follow this page so I’m going to jump in first and say yes I have been working in the garden but no, that’s tannin, Merbau timber stain on my fingers and yes little critters do seem to land on me a lot and feel safe… 😄 probably ‘cos I smell like dirt and tannin, like an old tree… Haha a magical tree that has warmth emanating from within, you can feel it on your belly when you lay against it, oh so warm… and it has the most amazing solar tracking, constantly moving you out of the shadows and into the sunshine…

Yeah I’ll take smelling like dirt and tannin as a compliment, and I don’t wanna burst your bubble mate but nah I’m just waving you around to get a better pic 😅
