This Australian Sheep Blowfly (Lucilia cuprina), also known as Green Blow Fly, Green Blowfly, Greenbottle Blowfly, Green Bottle Fly, and whose common names may also be applied to other species including Lucilia sericata and Lucilia caesar (although this fly is predominately in Europe, Asia and North Africa).

Unlike the larvae, the adult flies are varied in their diets, eating carrion and faeces, as well as pollen and nectar. As well as being important agents of decomposition, they also act as pollinators.
