Endemic to a small area in Victoria (with most sources identifying the area as the Little Desert area and also near Murtoa), is the Pterostylis cheraphila, commonly known as the Floodplain Rustyhood. However, the Pterostylis cheraphila in the following, were photographed on Spur Island (near Cohuna) in Victoria (nearly 300 km away).

This native orchid has a rosette of leaves near its base and up to seven dark brown to blackish flowers with a dark brown, insect-like labellum.
