The Reddish-brown Flower Beetle (Aphanestes gymnopleura), has variable colouration from black to reddish brown.
The adults are active during the day, and can be seen feeding on the nectar of flowers. The Aphanestes gymnopleura pictured here was found on the flowers of the Eucalyptus prava.
