The Australian Emperor (Anax papuensis), also known as the Yellow Emperor Dragonfly, is found across Australia. It is a large dragonfly with boldn black and yellow colouration, in particular black with yellow dots along its tail.
The head of the dragonfly is yellow with a T-shaped mark on the forehead (frons). The eyes are yellow to yellow-green and the leading edges of the wings are yellow.
