The genus Tetragnatha, are commonly known as the Long-jawed Spiders and the Stretch Spiders. The name makes reference to their elongated body form.
Usually found near water, most of the species are able to run across the water surface. The following photos were taken of the Long-jawed Spider removed from a swimming pool in Alice Springs, NT.
