Tropidoderus gracilifemur is a species of the Australian phasmids genus Tropidoderus within the Phasmatidae family. The common name is Sjöstedt’s Graceful Stick-Insect or Graceful Stick Insect.
Current observations have them recorded in the northern part of Australia, from Western Australia, NT Top End, Central Australia and Queensland. They are usually found in the canopy of large Eucalypts, although they are also known to be attracted to street lights.
Variable in colour the female and male can be a beige to yellow or green. It is when they open their wings that a display of purple, blue, and red is revealed, in a beautiful delicate display. Males are smaller then the female.
