Alice Springs Desert Park
ASDP Insects > Insects Index
It is estimated that there are more than 200,000 species of insects in Australia, with some 62,000 having been identified and named. With the growing interest in insects, many more are being collected for possible identification for the first time, often by ‘citizen scientist’.
As you stroll through the Alice Springs Desert Park, keep your eyes peeled for the many insects to be found. Some of them will be very small and care should be taken when photgraphing them, that you don’t get stung or bitten.
Check out some of the listed insects we have spotted on ASDP Insects Index.
