The genus Peucetia are a group of spiders known as Green Lynx Spiders. They belong in the family Oxyopidae (commonly known as Lynx Spiders).
The small Green Lynx Spider pictured here is was sitting motionless in the centre of a flower of the Poached Egg Daisy (Polycalymma stuartii). This is a key strategy of “sit motionless, wait and pounce” when the unsuspecting insects drops onto the flower, a key strategy of flower spiders. Unfortunately, this Green Lynx Spider did not like the mobile phone camera aimed at it and moved down the stem of the plant.
