Also known as the Heart-leaf Flame Pea (Chorizema cordatum) and Australian Flame Pea, this is a small to erect or scrambling native shrub that can grow up to a metre in height and 1.5 metres wide.
This flowering shrubs has striking and profuse racemes of large pea flowers that are bright pink, orange and yellow. When in full bloom, the bush is a mass of brightly coloured flowers. The leaves of the Chorizema cordatum are often heart shaped, with slight undulate margins.
Endemic to south western parts of Western Australia, it is a popular garden planting and has been grown on the eastern coast, such as in Sydney.
