Liris is a genus of solitary ground-nesting, predaceous wasps, in the family Crabronidae. These wasps are said to prey on crickets.

  • What a beautiful wasp!
    — The eye shape and reduced hind ocelli = tribe Larrini
    — The ridges on the frons (face) and the broad depression are consistent with subtribe Larrina.
    — Finally, the extensive golden hairs and the uninterrupted abdominal bands suggests Liris rather than Larra.1
