Tiger Spider (Trichonephila plumipes) seen here in the Stony Range Regional Botanic Garden in Dee Why (Northern Beaches), NSW.
This striking looking spider gets it name due to its yellow band markings on its legs, (said to be reminiscent of tiger). Formerly classified as Nephila plumipes, this spider belongs to the group of spiders commonly called Golden Orb-Weaving Spiders.
