Red-tipped Crab Spider (Sidymella rubrosignata) is a species of crab spiders found in Australia. They are a common spider, often seen on Dianella plants, in this instance they were on the Flannel Flower (Actinotus helianthi).
This spider does not make a webs, but lies in wait for prey such as insects or other small spiders to appear nearby.
Often well camouflaged against the green of a plant, they can be found in other colours including yellow, light brown or reddish colour. The females are about 8 mm long, whilst the males are just over half that size at 4.5 mm long, as well as being slimmer.
They have two pairs of front legs that are much longer than the other two pairs of legs. The abdomen has a trapezium shaped, with a pair of noticeable dorsal humps, with a red patch on each of them. The cephalothorax is pear-shaped.
