Hakea lasiocarpha is a shrub in the family Proteaceae and is endemic to Western Australia (along the south coast in the Great Southern region of WA). Commonly known as the Long Styled Hakea, it has about 30 whitish flowers in clusters in the upper leaf axils and rigid prickly leaves and with branchlets that are densely covered with long soft hairs. It is an upright spreading shrub that usually grow to 3-6 metres high and forms a lignotuber.
The specific epithet is said to be derived from the Greek words lasios (λάσιος) meaning woolly or hairy or shaggy and carpha meaning small dry body referring to the involucral bracts of the plant.
