Adenanthos obovatus has a number of common name including Basket Flower, Glandflower, Jugflower and Stick-in-the-jug. It is also known as Cheeuk, an Aboriginal name used In the King George Sound region of Western Australia.
Belonging to the family Proteaceae, it is endemic to Southwest Australia.
It is a many-stemmed spreading bush, growing up to 1 m high and about 1.5 m wide. It has fine bright green oval shaped foliage., with red flowers, that usually appears from April to December.
