Banksia nutans var. cernuella is a variety of Banksia nutans. It is endemic to the Southwest region of Western Australia, and found from the Stirling Ranges, south to Albany an east to the Pallinup River Valley.

It is usually found in low, open woodlands to tall scrublands, the preferred habitat being deep sandy soils.

The gorgeous flowers are smaller then the var. nutans, which are 5-6 cm across, but similar in colour (pinkish/purple). It has a strong onion scented fragrance and the fruits of Banksia nutans var. cernuella are about 18-30 mm long and 8-15 mm wide. The follicles have flattened convex tops, generally flanged with few wrinkles. The fruits of Banksia nutans var. cernuella are about 18-30 mm long and 8-15 mm wide.
