Sometimes in your everyday life, Mother Nature throws an unexpected moment your way…
There I was, working busily in the garden at my work place in Alice Springs… I was looking in the cabinet drawer for a garden tool, when suddenly a movement on the small folded step-ladder next to the drawer unit caught my attention.
A short intake of air… and my hands immediately went to my pocket for my mobile phone… snap, snap!! There it was, resting on one of the rungs of the ladder, a juvenile White-plumed Honeyeater.

All this time, the parent birds were flying around above us… watching…
I then slowly raised my hand up to the paperbark tree and gently coaxed the juvenile onto the branch of the tree… a few more photos and I felt elated. Mother Nature had done me a treat.
