You notice over time that certain types of flowers will attract certain types of bees, yet others aren’t remotely interested… But everyone loves a platypus. Eucalyptus platypus, also known as the Coastal Moort, has to bee one of the busiest and most species diverse flowering plants I’ve ever come across…
First pic, Thyreus waroonensis, the Waroona Cuckoo bee, and the stripey one that looks bit like a Megachile (Eutricharaea) but the bum and legs don’t seem right, Woohoo! I don’t know that one, that I think is a totally new bee for my albums, cool… 🙂
Second pic, Megachile (resin bee) but not sure of species…
Third pic, Lipotriches flavoviridis…
Fourth pic, the unmistakable bum of one of my all time favourites, Lipotriches (Austronomia) australica.
And last pic, Megachile (Eutricharaea) macularis.
