Thyreus waroonensis, the Waroona cuckoo bee… Fairly common around here but I haven’t got any really good pics of one feeding on a Woolly Bush yet… Haha, for all you wonderful up ‘n’ coming bee stalkers, bee warned, it can be very addictive 😃 once you’ve got a bunch of pics of a particular bee, that’s the next progression, you become compelled to record it on all the different plants it visits… 😄

Anyway, Cool! I thought as it rambled around the Woolly Bush trying to find a way in. This might be my chance… But nope… only snapped of a few quick shots and he disappeared… Had no idea where he went…

Then a little while later something caught my eye down low in the bush and there he was, 4th pic, tucked away in the shade, locked on to end of a Woolly Bush leaf, not just having a snooze, he was out like a light… I love how the legs seem to tuck right into the body and the antennae go into “sleep mode” 🙂

So I didn’t get the pics I was hoping for but it does again show that bees don’t just roost and sleep at night… 😄
