London Arch - Great Ocean Road - Cities, Towns and Localities
One of the popular attractions located between Peterborough and Port Campbell was called London Bridge, due to the resemblance of the double arches to the actual bridge in England. This landmark was connected to the mainland, then on the evening of the 15 January, 1990 the main arch connecting London Bridge to the mainland collapsed into the ocean leaving a couple stranded on the wrong side, and having to be rescued by helicopter a couple of hours later. The attraction is now known as London Arch.

There is a viewing platform that provide great views of the former bridge, now arch and of the London Bridge Beach. Sometimes if you look closely at the sand on the beach, you can see track marks from the surf to the base of the cliffs. These are made by the Fairy Penguin, also known as the Little Penguin or Little Blue Penguin (Eudyptula minor).
